On a Wing and a Chair is a not for profit, volunteer driven organisation that aims to challenge the limits of disability and raise expectations of what people with a disability can achieve through supporting inspirational feats of human endeavour.
The Australian Bureau of Statistics estimates that over four million Australians live with a disability; that’s enough people to fill the average Australian city sports stadium almost 80 times over.
On a Wing and a Chair aims to raise expectations of what people with disabilities can achieve and provide inspiration for people with or without disabilities to achieve their own challenging goals. Our vision is to one day live in a world where people look beyond the disability, and only see capacity, contribution and achievement.
On a Wing and a Chair relies on the volunteer support of passionate and professional individuals, the donations and in-kind support of generous individuals and organisations, and most importantly people who want to follow and engage in our journey.
